Kashmir Wing of Binat ul Muslimeen formed in Birmingham


BIRMINGHAM: Raja Afzal Khan, Member European Parliament. Has stressed the need for highlighting Kashmir issue in Europe, to apprise the world community that Kashmir issue is a longstanding unresolved and a matter of 15 million people.

British Kashmiris in general and women in particularly have a big role to play in highlighting Kashmir issue in an effective matter to pave way for its durable solution, Afzal Khan said while addressing a conference arranged by Women Forum. Sumera Farrukh, Chairperson Women’s Forum presided over the Conference. The participants and journalists have asked questions.

“Peace in South Asian region will remain a pipedream and relationship between two nuclear powers of the region will also remain hanging in balance”, Afzal Khan said.

He demanded a Scotland style referendum in all divided parts of Jammu Kashmir state to allow Kashmiri people to decide their fate by themselves.

British Kashmiris have always played an important role in highlighting Kashmir issue, he said, adding he will play his role in European Parliament to get the right of self-determination for Kashmiri people.

Sumera Farrukh said there was a gap of any women organization, which can play its role for Kashmir. “We have filled this vacuum and are ready to play our role without any fund raising”, she added.
