Senior Citizens Asian Group celebrates spring festival

LONDON: Senior Citizens Asian Group (SCAG) holds a graceful Spring Festival and they celebrated the strengthening democracy in Pakistan.

Councilor Nadeem Ali, Mayor Walthamstow was chief guest on the occasion and it was attended a large number of people from SCAG besides Councilor Liaqat Ali JPMBE, councilor Masood Ahmed, Councilor Mehmood Hussain, Councilor Clare Caug and Councilor Ehsan Khan.

Chairman SCAG Malik Muhammad Afzal presided over the function while Aslam Chugtaie conducted the stage while Raja Abdul Rauf opened the function with recitation from Holy Quran.

Aslam Chugtaie, Akram Butt, Raja Abdul Rauf, and Muhammad Imran presented the national anthem.

Malik Muhammad Afzal welcomed all the guests saying on March 23, 1940 a resolution was passed in Muslim League gathering at Mintu Park and this was immediate base for creation of Pakistan.

The hectic efforts of Quaid e Azam bare fruits and in a very short span of time Pakistan was a reality on August 14, 1047 and this way the dream of Hakimul Ummat Allama Iqbal came true, he said.

Mayor Walthamstow Councilor Nadeem Ali, Councilor Liaqat Ali JPMBE, councilor Masood Ahmed, Councilor Mehmood Hussain also addressed the gathering.
